Biography

Eugeniusz Arct studied in Warszawa (Warsaw) and Luzern until 1930. In 1950 he became a painting professor at the Academy in Warszawa. His post-impressionist paintings of the Warsaw School were mainly landscapes and still lifes from Warszawa, Italy and Switzerland. His woodcuts were destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising. Arct was awarded numerous prizes, and after the war honors such as the Order of Polonia Restituta. His painting Hokej is only known as a black and white reproduction.
