Biography

Slava Doseděl was a Czech tennis player who played professionally from 1989 to 2001. Doseděl achieved a career-best singles ranking of #26 in the world in October 1994 and a doubles ranking of #120 in the world in March 1997. He won his first singles title in October 1995 at the Chile Open, beating the home favourite Marcelo Ríos in straight sets. He won two further titles in the mid-1990s, with both coming in victories against Spain’s Carlos Moyá.

In May 1996 Doseděl teamed up with Pavel Vízner to win his only doubles title, with the pair defeating David Adams and Menno Oosting. His best result at a Grand Slam came in 1999 when he reached the quarter-finals of the US Open, where he lost to Todd Martin. One year later Doseděl represented Czechia in the singles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, but lost to Nicolás Massú in the opening round.
