Biography

Albert Maurer was an ice hockey defenseman who skated for Poland at the 1932 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. He also competed at the 1929 European Championships, helping Poland win a silver medal, and was capped 14 times. Maurer played his entire career (1925-37) with Pogon Lwów. He was also on the Polish national team in football. Maurer became an ice hockey coach, starting in 1940 in Bucareşti, but after World War II, in Poland with Polonia Bytom, Górnik, and Baildon Katowice.
