Biography
Gheorghe Moldoveanu of the Progresul Sinaia sporting club was a factory worker in the town of Sinaia located in the Prahova River valley near Romania’s Bucegi Mountains. He was the brakeman of the Romania 2 sled that competed in the four-man event at the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics, finishing 20th. He also competed in the two-man with Constantin Dragomir, finishing 18th. Moldoveanu won back-to-back Romanian championships with the Progresul Sinaia four-man team in 1953 and 1954.
