Ray Blick was a member of London’s Royal Canoe Club when he was selected to represent Great Britain at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics alongside Brian Bullivant. Together, they placed ninth in the K-2 1000 and eighth in the K-2 10,000. After the Games he joined his hometown Birmingham Canoe Club and rose to the position of vice-president within three years. He was then selected to represent his country again at the 1960 Rome Games, this time in the kayak relay 4x500 metres event. In this competition, he was eliminated in the semi-finals alongside Ronald Rhodes, Robert Lowery, and Edward Cronk. By career, Blick was a physical training instructor in the Royal Air Force and, after his retirement, worked for Compass Industrial Manufacturing in Birmingham.
