Biography

Maurice Severino was from Saratoga Springs, New York when he competed in the 1952 Winter Olympics. His four-man team finished ninth in Oslo, which was fortunate, as in a training run, their sled jumped the third curve, injuring two of the crew. Severino was in the Air Force in 1952 and eventually rose to the rank of Colonel. After his military retirement he served in the Air Force Reserves. His career was in advertising and public relations, and he combined this with his career in the Reserves as Public Information Officer for the 9004th Vounteer Air Reserve Training Wing.
