Biography

Originally from Montreal, Cyril “Sig” Slater was a member of the Toronto Granites, the gold medal-winning Canadian men’s ice hockey team at the 1924 Winter Olympics and he scored a total of four goals in his Olympic matches. He and Harold McMunn were newcomers to the team, but were nevertheless considered a “good fit” to help balance the strengths of the rest of its members. He played for the Montreal Victorias from 1916 until at least 1933 and later moved to Norway.
