A newcomer to the Toronto Granites, ice hockey left wing Harold McMunn was, along with Cyril “Sig” Slater added shortly prior to the 1924 Winter Olympics to help balance out the rest of the team. He had played with the Winnipeg Falcons from 1919 through 1923 and in 1921 was a member when it became the first Western team to win the Memorial Cup. He played in four games and scored five goals during the Olympic tournament, helping the Canadian delegation take the gold medal that year. As a member of the 1921 Winnipeg Junior Falcons, he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1992, as well as the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame.
