Biography

Jukka Virtanen began his hockey career in 1979 with Ässät Pori and played there until 1983. In 1983 Virtanen joined TPS Turku and played there until the end of his playing career in 1993. With TPS Virtanen won four Finnish titles (1989-91, 1993). Internationally Virtanen won Olympic silver in 1988 and bronzes at the 1986 and 1987 European Championships. After his sporting career Virtanen worked as the director of the City of Turku Sports Services Centre.
