Biography

German whitewater canoeist Udo Raumann participated in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, when canoe slalom became a permanent fixture in the Olympic program after its first appearance in 1972. He partnered Rüdiger Hübbers in the Canadian doubles and finished 14th. The pair had their greatest moments in winning the gold medal at the 1996 European Championships and the bronze medal at the Worlds the following year.

Raumann and Hübbers also won two national titles in 1992 and 1994. Raumann’s son Felix also enjoyed international success as a whitewater canoeist.
