Biography

Snowboarder Sigi Grabner was an Austrian four-time Olympian from 1998 at Nagano to 2010 at Vancouver. He participated in the giant slalom and parallel giant slalom, winning the parallel bronze medal at Torino 2006. Grabner won the 2003 World Championships and in 2005 added a bronze medal, both in the parallel giant slalom. In 1995-96, 1998, and twice in 1999, he won European titles.

Grabner won the overall World Cup in 2009 and the parallel overall World Cup in 2004 and 2009. In total, he won 14 World Cup races. In 2001, he won his only Austrian national title. Grabner wrote a book entitled Boarder Between Worlds. In 2003, Another project was the development of his own snowboards. In 2009, he was awarded the Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria.
