Description

The National Olympic Committee of Liberia was formed in 1955 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 17 June of the same year, at the IOC session in Paris. Liberia first competed at the Olympics in Melbourne in 1956. It has since missed the Olympic Games of 1968, 1976, 1980, and 1992. Liberia has not competed at the Olympic Winter Games and has not won an Olympic medal.

Through 2022, Liberia’s most successful Olympian has been Joseph Fahnbulleh who finished fifth in the men’s 200 metres sprint at Tokyo 2020.
