Team jumping was a passive event with team scores derived by adding up the scores of team members in the individual event. Teams consisted of three riders with all three scores to count. Fifteen teams competed with 14 of them completing the course. The course was 720 metres in length, with 16 obstacles at a height of 1.25-1.40 metres, and was considered to be relatively easy, as seven horse/riders went clear. Sweden had won this event in 1920 and 1924, but was pushed back to the bronze medal in Amsterdam, as Spain won the gold medal with only 4.0 team faults, ahead of Poland, with 8.0 team faults, and Sweden, with 10.0.
