Replacing team trap shooting, this was a new event for the 2024 Games, although a possible rotation with the former event may be introduced. The mixed team skeet shooting event at the 2024 Summer Olympics was held on August 5, at the National Shooting Centre in Châteauroux, France. Fifteen teams representing thirteen nations competed in this event, with Italy and the USA both entering two pairs.
The event followed a format where each team participated in a qualification round, with the top two teams advancing to the gold medal match and the third and fourth teams competing for bronze. The competition was intense, with the final matches being decided by the narrowest of margins.
The Italian duo of Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti secured the gold medal, narrowly defeating the favored American pair of Austen Smith and Vincent Hancock (both of whom had won medals in the individual competition) with a final score of 45 to 44. China edged out India for bronze.
