Biography

Tatjana Hüfner started her career in 1992 in Blankenburg / Harz before she changed to the sports school at Oberwiesenthal in 1997. She first made the German national team in 2003. After her 2006 Olympic bronze medal, she went on to win the 2007 and 2008 World Championships in singles and in the 2008 team competition. Hüfner also won the Overall World Cup five times in a row 2008-12 as the first woman in the luge world. She was won two silver medals in singles at the European Championships, in 2004 and 2006. 2010 at Vancouver she at least could win the Olympic Gold Medal. Beside her sports career Hüfner has studied clinical psychology at the Academy for Distance Learning (HAF) at Hamburg. Since 2002 she has been a sports soldier at the sports support group of the German Bundeswehr at Oberhof.
