A highly successful rider before the War, Arthur McCashin became the first riding captain of the U.S. Equestrian Team jumping squad. After retiring from competitive riding he became a well-known course designer and planned the circuit at the New York’s National Horse Show for many years. He served during World War II as a pilot for Colonial Airlines, which operated a civilian supply service for the armed forces.
