Biography

Dinu Pescariu was a Romanian tennis player who played professionally from 1991 to 2003. Pescariu achieved a career-best singles ranking of #75 in the world in June 1998, and a doubles ranking of #114 in the world in October 1997. He was part of Romania’s Davis Cup team from 1991 to 2000.

Pescariu won nine singles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour, with his first victory coming in June 1995 in Weiden, Germany, against Lars Burgsmüller. He also won five doubles titles on the Challenger Tour, starting in September 1996 with George Cosac partnering him. On the ATP Tour Pescariu won just one title when he and Davide Sanguinetti of Italy won the doubles at the 1997 Croatia Open.

Pescariu and George Cosac competed in the doubles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with the pair reaching the quarter-finals. Four years later Pescariu competed in the singles and doubles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics but did not progress past the first round in either event.
