Biography

Tom Beach competed at U Cal Berkeley, graduating in 1978 with a degree in sociology. As a youth he was an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts. Beach was 1975 US Champion in all-around. At the NCAAs, he won the 1976 horizontal bar and was second in all-around that year. He continued competing after the 1976 Olympics, making the 1983 Pan American Games team, where he won silver medals with the team and on parallel bars. Beach was inducted into the U Cal Berkeley Athletic Hall of Fame.

Beach would work for several years with Charles Schwab as a stockbroker. He later started TRB Design, a video production and web strategy company. He also started GymSmarts, a largest producer and distributor of gymnastic training videos and information.
