Biography

German half-heavyweight judoka Regina Schüttenhelm finished fifth at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. In 1990, she won gold at the Students World Championships, and in the following two years, won the national title. In 1983, 1987, and 1991 Schüttenhelm won team bronze medals at the Europeans.

From 1989-91 Schüttenhelm won the German team national titles with her home club TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen. She later became a geography and sports teacher by profession.
