Biography

After winning the bronze medal at the 1970 Barcelona Europeans in the 400 m freestyle, swimmer Karin Tülling was nominated for the 1972 München Games. In 1970, she also won East German titles in the 200 and 400 m freestyles. In 1971, Tülling added the 800 freestyle championship. She then started in München in the 200, 400 and 800 m freestyles. Over 200 m she finished eighth and last in the final, while in the other two events she was eliminated in the heats.
