Biography

Alfred Müller was a member of the East German 4x200 freestyle relay, finishing seventh at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Individually he failed to make the final of the 400 metres freestyle. He swam for ASK Vorwärts Rostock and was teamed nationally with Frank Wiegand, Horst-Günter Gregor and Jochen Herbst. At the 1966 Europeans he won a silver medal with the 4x200 relay. In 1968 and 1969 he won East German titles with the Rostock-relay. Individually, he won the 400 freestyle title in 1966, and the 1,500 metres in 1967.
