Biography

Günter Tittes was as a breaststroke swimmer and was a member of the Unified German 4x100 medley relay at the 1960 Roma Olympics which was eliminated in the heats. He earned the East German national title over 100 breaststroke in 1961, and the 4x200 breaststroke relay title with his home club ASK Vorwärts Rostock in 1960. In 1961 he set a new world 100 breaststroke record with a time of 1:10.8.
