Biography

German swimmer and butterfly specialist Chris-Carol Bremer appeared at two Olympics, Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996. She competed in the 200 metres each time and finished ninth and 16th respectively. In 1994, he won the bronze medal at the World Championships and added two silver and two more bronze medals at the Short Course Worlds. At the 1993 and 1995 Europeans he won two more bronze medals over 200 metres, and also a gold in 1996 at the Short Course Europeans.

For many years Bremer was spokesman for athletes in the German Swimming Association. At the Sydney Olympics in 2000 he was the German team captain. He was committed to more doping controls in swimming, but repeatedly failed due to narrow-minded officials, whom he repeatedly suspected of covering up.

After his retirement, Bremer studied physiology in the United States and later medicine in Hannover and Hamburg. He graduated as a medical doctor and MBA with extensive international leadership experience in Marketing, Sales, Business Development, R&D, General Management (Managing Director), and Chief Commercial Officer roles. From 2002, he was employed by the pharmacy company Grünenthal GmbH and eventually became marketing director and later Executive Vice President Early Products.
