Audrey Williams

Audrey Williams was a Canadian figure skater and judge. Williams and her partner Brian Power won the western Canadian pairs competition from 1952–54. After a short competitive career, Williams focused her efforts in officiating competitions. Williams was appointed as a national judge in 1959, and judged her first Canadian championship two years later. In 1967 the International Skating Union (ISU) appointed Williams as an international judge. Williams went on to judge at six world championships, four world junior championships, and at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics. In 1984 the ISU also appointed Williams as a referee.

Outside of her role as a judge, Williams was the Canadian team leader for female figure skaters at the 1972 Sapporo Olympics. Karen Magnussen won the silver medal in the singles competition, Canada’s only medal at the 1972 Games. Williams was inducted into the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
