Biography

Russian diver Vladimir Timoshinin won medals at the European and World Championships and competed at two Olympic Games in the 10 metre platform. Timoshinin won gold at the European Championships in 1991 and 1995, along with a silver in 1999, and a bronze in 1989. At the 1994 World Championships in Roma he also won the bronze medal.

Competing for the Soviet Union Timoshinin finished in eighth place at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Eight years later he represented Russia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics where he finished in fifth place. Timoshinin’s father Aleksandr competed at two Olympic Games in rowing, while his mother Nataliya Kuznetsova-Lobanova was also an Olympic diver. Timoshinin’s wife Svetlana and their daughter Yuliya also competed at the Olympics in diving.
