Biography

Nancy Owen attended Long Beach State University and Pepperdine. She began playing volleyball in her senior year of high school in Rolling Hills, California. In 1965 Owen started teaching and coached in the Cal State University system, and coached women’s volleyball at Loyola Marymount University. She later moved to Idaho in 1995, where she continued to work as an elementary school physical education teacher. Owen was inducted into the Pepperdine University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981.
