Biography

Lloy Ball played volleyball for the United States at the 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008 Olympics, winning a gold medal in 2008. Ball won gold medals at the 2007 NORCECA Championship and the 2008 World League. He added a 1995 Pan American Games silver medal and a bronze medal at the 1994 World Championships. Ball was on the US National Team from 1993-2008, earning 398 international caps.

Ball played for Indiana University – Purdue University, Fort Wayne (IPFW) from 1991-95, and led them to the NCAA Final Four in 1995. He was inducted into the IPFW Hall of Fame in its inaugural class in 2006. While in school he played at the 1991 and 1993 Universiade, winning a silver medal in 1991.

Professionally, Ball played in Europe from 1996-2012, playing with Toray Arrows, Casa Modena, Iraklis Thessaloniki, Zenit Kazan, and Ural Ufa. Although he was 2.03 m tall (6-8), he actually played mostly as a setter.
