Fernando Báez had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1970 World Championships Bantamweight class (335.0 kg); 1st in the 1967 Pan American Games Bantamweight class, 2nd in the 1971 Pan American Games Bantamweight class, 3rd in the 1975 Pan American Games Bantamweight class.
