Biography

Charles Foster was AAU high hurdles champion in 1974 and 1977, and NCAA champion in 1974 for North Carolina Central. He finished third in the 1979 Pan American Games and the inaugural World Cup in 1977. He later returned to his alma mater as a track coach and then became an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina.

He also worked in sports administration for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games in 1996. From 1997-99 he worked for the Special Olympics World Summer Games Organizing Committee, and then returned to coaching at Clemson University. In 2008 he was named NCAA Assistant Coach of the Year.

Personal Best: 110H – 13.41 (1976).
