Biography

Jennifer Goolsbee was an American-born ice dancer who partnered with the non-Olympians Peter Chupa and James Schilling in her youth. With Chupa she represented the USA at the 1987 Youth World Championships. From 1990 she teamed up with Hendryk Schamberger, obtained German citizenship, and danced for Germany. At the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics they finished ninth. From 1992-95 the pair also won the German national title.

Goolsbee then gave back her German passport and teamed up with Armenian Samvel Gyozalyan to participate in the 1998 Nagano Olympics, but the IOC denied her to opportunity to change nationality. Nevertheless, the pair had won the German national title in 1997. Goolsbee then returned to the US and worked as a dancer and figure skating coach.
