Biography

Mino, Count Balbi Di Robecco played tennis at the 1920 Olympics, but he was also known as a footballer. He played for the Genova team as a goalkeeper and midfielder in the Italian second division in 1904-09, and helped them win the second division title in 1904.

Balbi Di Robecco was Italian Champion in singles in 1914, 1921, and 1926-27, winning the doubles in 1914, 1920-22 and 1926. He twice played for Italy in Davis Cup, in 1922-23, losing all three of his matches. Balbi Di Robecco won international tournaments in 1914 at Napoli, and in 1922 in Monte Carlo, where he defeated the Frenchman Alain Gerbault, renowned as an aviator and sailor.
