Biography

Karen Simensen won the bronze medal at the World Figure Skating Championship in 1927, but was overshadowed by Sonja Henie on the national scene. Under her married name Karen Klæboe she was active as a figure skating coach for several decades in her club Oslo Skøiteklub. She was also the first female chairman of the Figure Skating Committee of the Norwegian Skating Association, serving in that post from 1950-57.
