Biography

Cross-country skier Heike Wezel finished eighth with the German relay team at the 1992 Albertville Winter Games. She also competed in all individual races but her best result was in finishing 17th in the 5 km.

In 1987 and 1988, Wezel won silver and gold respectively with the East German relays at the Youth World Championships. In 1991 and 1993 she also participated in the World Championships but not with the same success. In 1994, she won the American Birkebeiner marathon race.
