Biography

Representing re-unified Germany, Thomas Abratis finished tenth with the team in the Nordic combined at the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Games. Individually, he finished 22nd. In 1989, he won his only international medal, a team bronze at the World Championships, representing East Germany. He already had won the team gold medal at the 1987 Youth Worlds.

On a national level, Abratis won individual titles in 1986, in East Germany, and 1996, in re-unified Germany. He also won team titles in 1986 and 1997. Abratis later became a technical delegate with the International Skiing Federation (FIS).
