Biography

Karl Buhl was a farmer and did cross-country skiing training in winter with the German Bundeswehr. He won two West German national titles, over 15 km in 1966 and 50 km in 1967. In West Germany he was overshadowed by Walter Demel throughout his career. At the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics Buhl finished 44th over 15 km within the mixed German team. In 1968, representing West Germany, he placed 20th and 31st respectively in the 15 km and 30 km events. With the 4x10 km relay he came eighth.
