Biography

Nordic combined competitor Jens Deimel appeared twice at Winter Olympics, at Albertville in 1992 and Nagano in 1998. He finished fifth and sixth with the teams respectively, and started in the normal hill event at Albertville, placing 34th. Deimel was on the bronze medal winning team at the 1993 World Championships. Domestically, he won three national titles in 1992, 1997-98. Deimel retired after the 2002 season and started a coaching career with the German Skiing Federation as an assistant coach.
