Goalkeeper Alfred Hoffmann finished eighth with the German ice hockey team at the 1952 Oslo Olympics and sixth at the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Games. He also won the silver medal at the 1953 World Championships. With his club SC Riessersee he managed to win two league titles in 1948 and 1950. He first worked as a police officer, and later as a “technical illustrator”. He was inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
