Biography

Marc Burns was a four-time Olympic sprinter for Trinidad and Tobago, winning a gold medal in the 4x100 in 2008 and a silver medal in 2012. He made the final of the 100 metres in 2008, placing seventh. Burns was a three-time finalist in the 100 metres at the World Championships, placing seventh in 2005, eighth in 2007, and seventh in 2009. He also won three silver medals in the 4x100 at the Worlds, in 2001, 2005, and 2009. Burns was the Trinidad and Tobago flagbearer in 2012 at London.

Burns ran in college at Auburn University in the United States, placing third in the NCAA indoor 60 metres in 2004. His other international medals include a gold medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games in the 4x100, silver in the same event at the 2003 Pan American Games, and two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games, one in the 2006 100 metres and one in the 2014 4x100 relay.
