Biography

LaMark Carter was an American triple jumper who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He was a silver medalist in the event at the 1999 Pan American Games and World Indoor Championships. He won bronze medals at the 1998 and 2001 Goodwill Games and the 1995 World University Games. Carter was a three-time national champion in the triple jump, winning in 1998-99 and 2001. He competed at the World Championships in 1995 and 1999 and four times at the World Indoor Championships.

Carter competed in college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he was a three-time All-American and seven-time Southland Conference champion. Carter later became a coach, first in high school, then at Northwestern State, and in 2019 became the head track & field and cross-country coach at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas.
