Biography

In a freestyle skiing career that spanned from 1984 through 1997, Lloyd Langlois’ bronze medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics might pale in comparison to the 47 gold and silver medals he has won at World Cup events in aerials. In addition, Langlois won in the World Championships twice: once in 1986 (the first year that the championships were held) and again in 1989. During his career he was a member of the elite freestyle skiing team known as the “Quebec Air Force”. He also won a bronze medal in the event at the 1988 Winter Games, when it was considered a demonstration sport, and helped convince the International Olympic Committee that it should become part of the regular Olympic program. He is a member of the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.
