Biography

Sebastián Junqueras was entered in the 110 hurdles and the long jump at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, but did not compete, although he earned six caps for Spain. Best known as a high hurdler, Junqueras also competed in the jumps and the decathlon. Junqueras was an eight-time Spanish Champion, winning the 110 hurdles in 1946 and 1950-52, the 400 hurdles in 1950, the long jump in 1951-52, and the decathlon in 1950. He set or equalled 10 Spanish records in the high hurdles, and also set national marks in the 200 hurdles, 400 hurdles, and the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.

Personal Bests: 110H – 15.2 (1953); LJ – 7.10 (1953).
