Biography

Breaststroke swimmer Simone Karn failed to reach the 100 metres final at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and placed 14th. In 2002, she won the gold medal with the 4x100 medley relay at the European Championships and added three bronze medals at the European Short-Course Championships. Therefore, she was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Karn won nine German national titles. She trained as a tax consultant.
