Biography

Cross-country skier Peter Zipfel, brother of Georg Zipfel, represented West Germany at the 1980 Lake Placid and 1984 Sarajevo Winter Games. He finished fourth and sixth with the 4x10 km relay in 1980 and 1984 as his best Olympic result. Individually, he came in 21st over 50 km in 1980 as his best Olympic result. In 1976, 1977 and 1981 he earned West German national titles over 15 km. Peter Zipfel studied graphic design and became a cartoonist.
