Description

The National Olympic Committee of American Samoa was formed on 30 May 1985 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 12 May 1987 at the IOC session in Istanbul. American Samoa has competed at all Olympic Games since 1988 and the 1994 Olympic Winter Games. In 1992, Maselino Masoe won two matches in light-middleweight boxing to finish equal fifth of 30 in his class, the top finish to date from this small island nation.
