Description

The Solomon Islands National Olympic Committee was formed in 1983 and provisionally recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 6 February 1984 at the IOC Session in Sarajevo. They made their Olympic début in 1984, and have since competed at all Olympic Games.

The Solomon Islands has never competed at the Olympic Winter Games and their athletes have yet to win a medal. The nation’s best Olympic result came when judoka Tony Lomo was tied for ninth in a field of 37 competitors in the 2012 men’s extra-lightweight competition.
