This event was shot from 20 metres with a Gras model revolver, which had been designed in France in 1873. France’s Jean Fouconnier won the gold medal with 219 points from a possible 300. Fouconnier won a complete set of medals in Athina, with a silver in the free pistol, and bronze in the team free rifle event. France swept the medals, with Raoul, Count de Boigne placing second and Hermann Martin third.
