Description
3x3 basketball is governed worldwide by the Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA), formerly known as the Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball Amateur, that was founded on 18 June 1932 in Geneva, Switzerland, with eight founding members: Argentina, Czechoslovakia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, and Switzerland. As a measure of its popularity, FIBA has 211 member nations as of 2022.
3x3 basketball is a playground version of the traditional sport of basketball. It has been contested at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The event made its Olympic début at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, where Latvia won the men’s competition and the United States won the women’s tournament.
