Biography

German curler Oliver Axnick, brother-in-law of Swiss curler Ralph Stöckli, finished eighth at both the 1998 Nagano and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. He then turned to coaching and placed sixth with the German men’s team at the 2010 Vancouver Games. In 1992 and 1997, he was a member of European Championship-winning squads. At World Championships, Axnick gained one silver (1997) and three bronze medals (1994-95 and 2005). Domestically, he curled with Curling Club Füssen and won seven national titles (1994-95, 1997, 1999-2001, 2005). From 2007-10 he was chief national coach.

Axnick then became a freelance consultant, facilitator, trainer and coach in the Zurich area (Switzerland). He worked in the consulting and learning and organizational development area of IT companies for more than 20 years. He became a certified Integral Development Coach.
