Biography

Krisztián Szabó started skating in Debrecen, his hometown, and represented Hungary as a short-track speed skater at the Olympics, World and European Championships, and the Winter Universiade. Szabó was a member of the men’s relay team that won the bronze medal at the European Championship in 2001, and the following year he competed in the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. After his sports career, he worked as the head coach of the Szeged Skating Association. He trained the short track junior national team for many years, where he contributed to the success of Hungarian skating with numerous junior world championship medals and European Cup podiums. For the 2023-24 season he worked as the head coach of the women’s speed skating team.
