Aleksey Selikhov came from the village Slobodka in the Tver oblast. In 1909, he became staff captain of the 1st Mounted Artillery Division. He served in World War I and was cared for in 1916 in a military hospital in Sumy (now UKR), but nothing is known about his further fate. Selikhov was known to be an excellent rider who won several prizes. In 1912, he represented Russia in show jumping at the Stockholm Olympics. With his horse Tugela, he placed 22nd in the individual and fifth in the team event.
